Cookie Policy
1. What are cookies
Cookies are small text files that websites place on your device (computer, phone, or tablet) when you visit them. They help the website remember your preferences, understand how you use the site, and improve your experience.
Similar technologies include pixels (tiny images embedded in web pages), local storage (data stored in your browser), and scripts (small programs that run on the page). When we say "cookies" in this policy, we include all of these technologies.
Cookies do not give us access to your device or any personal files.
2. Cookie categories
We organize cookies into three categories. Non-essential cookies (analytics and marketing) are turned off by default. They are only activated if you choose to turn them on through our cookie banner.
Strictly necessary cookies — ON by default
These cookies are required for the website to function. They enable basic features like page navigation, secure access to your account, and language preferences. Without these cookies, the website cannot work properly. Because they are essential, they cannot be turned off.
- Session management and login state.
- Cookie consent preferences (remembering your choices).
- Security features such as fraud prevention and bot detection.
- Language and accessibility preferences.
Analytics cookies — OFF by default
These cookies help us understand how visitors use our website. They collect information such as which pages are visited most often, how long visitors stay, and whether visitors encounter errors. This data is aggregated and anonymous. We use it only to improve our website.
- Page view counts and navigation paths.
- Time spent on pages.
- Device type, browser, and screen size (for design improvements).
- Referral source (how you found our website).
Analytics cookies are only set after you opt in through our cookie banner.
Marketing cookies — OFF by default
These cookies are used to show you relevant advertisements and measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns. They may track your browsing activity across other websites.
- Ad click attribution (understanding which ad led you to our website).
- Conversion tracking (knowing if you booked a visit after seeing an ad).
- Audience building for future advertising (for example, showing ads to people who are similar to our existing patients).
Marketing cookies are only set after you opt in through our cookie banner. You may opt out at any time.
3. Specific cookies used
The following table lists the specific cookies our website may set. This list is updated when our cookie usage changes.
- vh365_session — Strictly necessary. Maintains your session state. Expires when you close your browser.
- vh365_consent — Strictly necessary. Stores your cookie consent preferences. Expires after 12 months.
- vh365_lang — Strictly necessary. Stores your language preference (English, Korean, or Chinese). Expires after 12 months.
- _ga / _ga_* — Analytics (Google Analytics 4). Identifies unique visitors and tracks page views. Expires after 14 months. Only set with your consent.
- _gid — Analytics (Google Analytics 4). Identifies unique visitors within a 24-hour period. Expires after 24 hours. Only set with your consent.
- _gcl_au — Marketing (Google Ads). Tracks ad clicks and conversions. Expires after 90 days. Only set with your consent.
- _fbp — Marketing (Meta Pixel). Tracks visits from Facebook or Instagram ads. Expires after 90 days. Only set with your consent.
4. How to control cookies
You have two ways to control cookies on our website:
Our cookie banner. When you first visit our website, you will see a cookie banner that lets you choose which categories of cookies to allow. You can change your preferences at any time by clicking the "Cookie Settings" link in our website footer. Non-essential cookies remain off until you actively turn them on.
Your browser settings. Most web browsers let you view, delete, and block cookies. The steps depend on your browser:
- Chrome: Settings > Privacy and Security > Cookies and other site data.
- Safari: Preferences > Privacy > Manage Website Data.
- Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data.
- Edge: Settings > Cookies and site permissions > Manage and delete cookies.
If you block all cookies, some parts of our website may not work correctly (for example, your language preference may not be saved).
5. Global Privacy Control (GPC)
We recognize and honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. If your browser or a browser extension sends a GPC signal, we will automatically treat it as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information, as required by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA).
When we detect a GPC signal:
- Marketing cookies will not be set, regardless of any prior consent.
- We will not share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- Analytics cookies that do not involve sharing data with third parties may still be set if you have opted in through our cookie banner.
You do not need to take any additional steps. The GPC signal is recognized automatically. To enable GPC, visit globalprivacycontrol.org for instructions.
6. Do Not Track
Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. There is currently no industry standard for how websites should respond to DNT signals. However, because we already default non-essential cookies to off and honor the GPC signal, our approach provides protections that go beyond what DNT typically requests.
7. Third-party cookies
Some cookies on our website are set by third-party services that we use, such as Google Analytics and Meta Pixel. These third parties have their own privacy policies that govern how they use the data they collect. We encourage you to review their policies:
- Google Privacy Policy: policies.google.com/privacy
- Meta Privacy Policy: facebook.com/privacy/policy
Third-party cookies are only set on our website when you opt in through our cookie banner. If you do not opt in, no third-party cookies will be placed on your device from our website.
8. Changes
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. If we make significant changes to how we use cookies, we will reset your consent preferences so that you can review and choose again.
